Who We Are

Sky Frautschi founded Pan American Sky Translations in 2009 after working seven years as a lawyer with Shearman & Sterling LLP, primarily in the area of Latin American finance. His experience in cross-border securities offerings suggested that a good translator was hard to find, and that lawyers were spending too much time fixing outsourced translations; when draft prospectuses, contracts or press releases were received from translators, they often had internally inconsistent technical terms, and rarely met the high standards expected by bankers and investors (not to mention the Plain English guidelines set by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission).
